About us

The Karreenga / Marngoneet Correctional Centre is a business unit of the CGaS Barwon South West Region (BSWR) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

The BSWR group provides justice services from Justice Service Centres in Geelong and Warrnambool, and through reporting centres in Colac, Hamilton and Portland. The region has a prison precinct that currently includes three prisons, the maximum-security HM Prison Barwon and medium security Prisons - Marngoneet Correctional Centre (MCC) and Karreenga.

About the role

As a Justice Officer - Stores, you will be responsible for:

  • preparing stock estimates
  • undertaking stocktakes
  • obtaining quotations
  • ordering and delivering goods required for prisons
  • assisting in operating the Prisoner's shop and updating prisoner records.

This role is an entry level position to a career in Corporate Services within the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

About you

As a Justice Officer - Store, you will possess:

  • well-developed computer literacy skills
  • knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
  • demonstrated understanding of stores and warehousing operations
  • demonstrated understanding of stock management, delivery or service requirements and OH&S practices.

Keys to your success will be your highly developed communication, problem solving, planning and organising skills including the ability to manage external and internal stakeholders through assessing their needs and communicating decision effectively.
