Envision, design, build and embed Space Optimisation capabilities that enable Woolworths to deliver a product range and offering that is highly tailored to Australian communities, drives competitive advantage and market leading financial performance.
Work hands-on and lead the effort on how to best use space within Woolworths. This includes for example optimising macro space via store clustering, floor space, flows and adjacency, customer mission-based store experiences and linked to ranging decisions in partnership with the Floor planning, Format design, Retail Analytics, Category Planning and Customer ranging, Micro space, and other teams across the business.
Work on developing long-term/future solutions as well as optimising near-new / current capabilities.
The Opportunity:
Macro Space which comprises of 15+ people forms part of the Space & insights within Woolworths. In addition to the scope described for this role, the team develops optimised floor plans via sophisticated space models for all New store refurbishment and commercial project delivery.
About the role:
Our Space & Insights team is seeking a Macro Space Optimisation Manager to envision, design, build and embed Space Optimisation capabilities that enables Woolworths to deliver a product range and offering that is tailored to Australian communities, drives competitive advantage and market leading financial performance. This role will see you work hands on and lead our effort on how to best use space within Woolworths; you will work on developing long-term / future solutions and optimising near-term / current capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the application of Macro Space Optimisation across the store portfolio and advance the use of space via customer focused data insights
Lead, Inspire, coach and develop our team of macro space analysts
Review and implement Macro Space optimisation tools, models, process and related capabilities, develop concepts and designs to close gaps
Conduct deep dives on prioritised topics to help stakeholders learn what is possible through better use of space and improved customer flows and produce adjacencies.
Who we’re looking for:
Strong leadership capability
3 years + post graduate commercial experience
Experience in developing space optimisation modelling that delivers high impact results
Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships and engage with a range of stakeholders
Ability to coach, motivate and develop a team
Experience in managing project delivery in line with budgets and timeframes
