What we’re looking for?

Kmart is currently searching for a Buyer - Beauty to trade our Personal Care category. This Buying role will be responsible for the usual – maximising potential of the category, developing and delivering the strategic direction, maximising department sales and increasing market share and producing a product that reflects the category strategy. This role in particular will see you responsible for both national and own brands, collaborating with the design and planning teams and partnering with our suppliers and international sourcing teams.

Where the difference lies is that we are looking for someone with some basic Beauty product formulation experience. This role will be responsible for managing a high mix of bath and beauty accessories. We have big growth plans for this category in Kmart and your experience in developing product from concept to store will ensure these aggressive deliverables are achieved.

About You

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Seasoned buyer with experience in formulation, color cosmetics and skin care;
  • Demonstrable experience as a blue-sky thinker and ability to bring ideas to life;
  • You must be an exceptionally strategic thinker as this category is forever evolving and at an extremely fast pace
  • An ability to interpret and act on product performance with demonstrable results
  • Solid financial, numerical and analysis skills combined with well-honed commercial skills
  • Proven success in driving positive results through strong negotiations
  • Strong communication skills combined with exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Continued diligence in keeping abreast on market trends with an agility to act quickly
