Seeking multiple Sales Assistants/Retail Store Managers/2IC's to assist in the day to day operations of a Salvos Store's across Melbourne.

We have opportunities available for an IMMEDIATE START at various locations across Melbourne.

What is involved?

  • Collect sort and price donations in store.
  • Complete sale of goods.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of visual merchandising and store presentation.
  • Sort and price stock as per store procedure, ensuring manual handling procedures are followed.
  • Place new/fresh stock in store and place price stickers on purchased goods.
  • Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure.
  • Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrate TSA core values in all work-related activities.
  • Follow policy procedures for Customer Service.
  • Retail leadership experience
  • Leading, growing and developing a team of paid employees and volunteers across multiple departments.
  • Ensuring extraordinary customer service is provided every day, in every interaction.
  • Reading, analyzing and interpreting business reports to deliver on all business targets and outcomes, including using spreadsheets and other applications as required.
  • Embedding exceptional operational and visual merchandising standards
  • Role-modeling a 'safety first' culture.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.

Who are we looking for exactly?

Ideally, our model candidate would:
  • Give customers full attention (Mystery shoppers may be present and therefore must be 100% scored on customer service)
  • Have previous relevant retail experience.
  • Be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Be able to work effectively as a team as well as individually.
  • Be able to problem solve and multitask.
  • Display a high level of energy and commitment.
Previous experience in a similar industry, while highly regarded, is not essential. What is essential is your people and team leadership, your passion, and proven ability to deliver outstanding results in a complex and rewarding retail environment.

Importantly, as someone known for your integrity, you will also be comfortable aligning to The Salvation Army Mission and Values.
