Category Manager - General Merchandise

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join our Buying team.

What we are looking for:

Working in a fast paced environment the role is responsible for delivering a range that is better for customers, simpler to execute and enhances our customer's’ perceptions of our value, quality and range whilst delivering to target on sales growth, profitability and market share.
 
In addition, the Category Manager manages a team of buyers to set the category strategy in relation to Product, Price, Promotions and Placement.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the day to day operation of the category including supply and store range across all WOW systems
  • Coach & Develop a team of dedicated Buyers & Category Assistants
  • Develop and implement the strategy with respects to Sell price, GP, Range, NPD of new lines, New concepts
  • Maintain strong relationships with State OPS senior management from GM to Group manager
  • Accountable for the Fiscal performance of category including forecasting, budgets and overall performance to KPI’s and expectations
  • Develop and Manage strong supplier relationships with a varied and diverse supplier base.

Your previous experience in a Category Management role working across multiple teams and your leadership capabilities put you ahead of the crowd.

You’re curious and empathetic, with an eye for the bigger picture. You deal with complexity by collaborating with colleagues, listening to customers and suppliers, testing ideas and continuously learning.
