As we enter an exciting period of growth, we have an opportunity for a Full-time Assistant Store Manager for our Birkenhead Point Store. We are seeking a passionate, driven and experienced Leader who can hit the ground running and kick our 2021 goals!

About the Role:

Due to an internal promotion, we are are seeking a Assistant Store Manager. As the Assistant Store Manager, you will support not only your team but your Store Manager with the day-to-day running of our ASICS Birkenhead Point Store.

Working on the shop floor, you will help to lead the store to success by maximising sales, improving customer experience and driving a culture in your team of passion, enthusiasm and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring stock levels and ensuring accurate stock is replenished with the support of the stock coordinator
  • Support, adhere and encourage the operations of the store in accordance with head office goals
  • Respond in a timely manner to customer complaints, comments and feedback
  • Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers
  • Merchandise control through following security systems and lost and prevention measures
  • Ensure a safe, healthy and productive environment for all employees and customers
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
  • Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
  • Suggesting changes to improve the business
  • Train, support and coach all team members in conjunction with the Store Manager
  • Adhoc duties inline with business and store growth such as; recruitment, training sessions, performance management.

About you:

  • You will have a proven track record in retail sales, ideally in the sporting or fashion industry with a minimum of 2 years experience
  • A driven, determined and proactive approach to sales, team management, coaching and the overall goals of the business and store
  • Past experience in managing a team of 15 plus employees including but not limited to performance issues, recruitment, coaching, training and WHS
  • Your communication both verbal and written will be excellent as you will be part of the leadership team where we encourage and welcome your ideas for continuous improvement
  • A strong focus on time management, problem solving and attention to detail & effective communication
