About the role:

The GM - Process Transformation is a newly created role in the Woolworths Supermarkets Stores Executive team. The position will play a critical role in building customer and team advocacy, whilst ensuring our store teams have the capacity, resources and empowerment to focus on great team and customer outcomes.

Working in partnership with teams such as Business Enablement, WooliesX and Simpler for Stores, this position will be accountable for embedding great processes in our stores, such as simplifying team tasks, reducing store food waste and creating paperless stores. 

As we continue to grow our Food Group eco-system, the GM position will play a key role in ensuring all our teams remain connected into Stores and our Stores team. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Embedding good stock loss across our stores, working end to end across all our departments
  • Strengthening team and customer security - identifying high risk stores and defining and implementing appropriate controls
  • Paperless stores for team - partnering with Business Enablement to use technology to simplify processes and automate in-store manual team tasks
  • Working end to end across our business to deliver faster and friendlier checkouts, and to grow Scan and Go
  • Partnering with Woolies X to digitise in-store experience and continuously improve store eCom processes
  • Introducing Voice of Planet to stores in collaboration with the Sustainability team. Driving through initiatives to target Zero food waste, and step-change energy efficiency
  • Updating store processes in promap, revising and building trust in our labour standards, and continuously identifying improvements in store processes for our team
  • Partnering with your peers and leaders across Woolworths Supermarkets to jointly deliver on Supermarket transformation priorities 

About you:

  • Purpose-led, and passionate about our team
  • Experience as part of a leadership team in a large scale retail/consumer business, including transformation experience due to industry disruption and/or strategic shifts
  • Experience delivering customer, team and business impact through digital technologies and/or data analytics and insight 
  • Commercially astute, with experience delivering P&L outcomes, and balancing customer 1st team 1st approach with financial targets
  • Operationally resilient, with a proven track record of effectively implementing and executing business transformation priorities in a fast paced, commercial retail context.
  • A demonstrated record of delivering results through others in a matrixed organisation of similar size and scale where you influenced outcomes without direct authority. Building genuine, respectful and trusting relationships and have the difficult conversations when needed 
  • Managed competing stakeholder demands and have developed an ease in senior forums
