About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst for the Woolworths Food Company is responsible for consistently and accurately analysing insights, providing directional paths of potential outcomes and engagement of buying processes using industry knowledge and training. Engaging consistently with our FoodCo team to support with supplier landscape reviews, performance and ongoing maintenance to continue growth for FoodCo. 
This role is a crucial point of contact between our buyers, SOBMs and the CSM for Better Buying, Strategic Supplier sourcing and maintenance and sound analytical reviews to assist our buyers in being “Australia’s best buying team."

The key responsibilities will include however not be limited to:

  • Analysts to support COGS initiatives via annual contract planner & negotiation planning process
  • Evolving operating model for Buyers by developing and rolling out effective supplier strategies for different category missions to improve Buyer workload efficiency
  • Identifying and supporting value chain initiatives to deliver additional savings recognised in COGS
  • Sponsoring FoodCo’s pricing strategies to ensure our brands and products are fit for purpose and delivering to our Customer needs
  • Consistently utilising key third party data sources for data Analysis
  • Management of Commodity movement communication
  • Maintaining Pricing Structure 
  • Strategic Supplier Growth 
  • Contract phase planning

About You

To be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience in the field of, financial analysis, responsible sourcing with a knowledge of global and domestic commodity pricing and Analysis 
  • Experience in identifying trends and key financial risks, in order to assess the risks and opportunities for Woolworths and assist in the develop of category plan to mitigate risk
  • The ability to engage and communicate with all stakeholders with differing interests and priorities. Being able to adapt style and influencing skills to work effectively and collaboratively
  • Able to prioritise, work under pressure, meet deadlines and provide guidance and support to large stakeholder group through effective forum schedule & structured training programs
  • Understanding of industry and government initiatives underway in retail and how FoodCo best positions around them
  • Strong internal relationships and ability to flex style to suit audience
  • Expertise in gathering and Analysing data specific to categories and the industry
