About Us
 
Wooloworths, together with our supplier partners, invests several billion dollars each year in promotions. It is one of the biggest recurring investments we make across the Woolworths Group. As the Head of Promotions you will be responsible for leading the Promotions agenda for Woolworths Supermarkets, in collaboration with a cross-functional team spanning across Buying, Pricing & Customer Value, WooliesX and Quantium. 
 
About the role:

As the Head of Promotions, you will support the development and implementation of strategies, tools and business practices that are aimed at driving an increase in ROI. You will increase the share of high performing promotions and reduce wastage/low ROI spend, whilst ensuring that the Promotional program resonates with customers, as part of the broader Pricing & Customer value strategy. 
 
You will be responsible for actively managing and optimising our multi-billion dollar promotions P&L to drive increased traffic, sales, promotional ROI and relevant Voice of Customer metrics, you will lead cross functional squads of direct and indirect team members to optimise returns on promotional investment, sales and profit growth and growth in customer traffic driving promotions. 

Key roles and responsibilities will include: 

  • Drive the development of the future vision and strategy of the promotional program and deliver on objectives and key results through strong stakeholder engagement and change management
  • Lead the development and implementation of tools, technology and insights to support smart decision making, including embedding a new generation of promotional planning and effectiveness tools
  • Lead the focus and implementation promotions in store, in line with our ambition to increasingly curate range and space to the local community
  • Maintain a competitive edge and support the achievement of market share objectives
  • Support the development and coaching of others in their existing roles as well as future career aspirations

About You

With your natural ability to lead and support the strategic direction of Promotions, you will influence indirect teams to drive and adopt innovation and commercial outcomes. Developing strong relationships with a range of cross functional internal teams, as well as business partners, you will bring to the role a proven experience in influencing at all levels, horizontal leadership and senior stakeholder engagement. 

You maintain a local market as well as a global perspective on emerging technologies and trends, and pride yourself on the delivery of clear and concise communication across a range of audiences. Your financial and commercial acumen, alongside your ability to analyse information, identify trends and prioritise, will be integral to your success in this role. 

Additional skills and capabilities will include: 

  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience in developing high performing category and/or delivery teams 
  • Highly organised and capable of juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think strategically and shape the vision and strategic deliverables for your area
  • FMCG category and promotional management experience advantageous
  • Role-modelling Woolworths values and Ways of Working
