Full Job Description

You are an inspirational and operational leader as well as an impassioned foodie (with a particular love of meatballs). A true customer advocate you are able to drive this passion through your team and act upon insights and feedback to ensure we continue to provide a safe, healthy, delicious, sustainable, affordable and joyful food experience. You have strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate and support the team and can influence and communicate effectively on all levels. You are comfortable working in a high turnover, fast paced environment and can easily identify and move between conflicting priorities. Previous experience working in a similar environment within hospitality is preferred but not essential, as we are looking for a leader with a passion for food who will lead, support, coach and mentor team members to ensure both they and our food business continue to grow.

This is a hands-on Front of House leadership role that will require you be able available to work a mix of day and evening shifts between the hours of 8am - 10pm as well as a Saturday and Sunday every second week.


Supporting our Front of House Manager who will lead our Food team members to welcome and serve our customers within our Customer Restaurant & Café in the IKEA Richmond store. As an inspirational leader you will manage and coach a large team as well as oversee and contribute to the daily operations. As a Front of House Team Leader your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure that every customer has a consistent and excellent food experience by supporting, challenging, and coaching team members to see through the customer eyes.
  • Ensure that the appropriate processes are followed, and actions are taken daily to secure Food Safety and that operational standards are in place to provide a safe environment for customers and co-workers.
  • Ensure sales steering tools are in place to optimise commerciality and secure excellence in operations.
  • Act upon customer feedback, recognising good customer service and taking appropriate action to avoid repeated problems.
  • Highlight points for improvement in the Front of House customer areas, taking appropriate action where relevant.
  • Build the competence of the team through regular coaching, support, and encouragement.
This is a permanent full time role in our IKEA Richmond Food team.


A key role of the Food team is to serve our customers ensuring they have a positive experience in our store to give our visitors a tasty reason to return. Together we strive to deliver a prime food experience for the customer shopping journey and ensure our shoppers and their stomachs are truly satisfied.
