Amazon is seeking to add a Category Growth Manager – Retail to our team to help build our key categories. You will join a high performing, learning-oriented, analytical team, motivated to work hard, have fun, and make history.

What’s involved in this role? It’s fair to say that no two days are alike – so this position suits someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving. You’ll be working to:

· Monitor industry trends and developing insights around customer needs
· Strategically manage your category to reach objectives, owning the P&L for your business area and brands
· Develop trust-based relationships and negotiating with leading brands that result in
· Great shopping experience for customers
· Partnerships to feature more products and compelling content
· Alignment on the Amazon proposition and how they can succeed online
· Uncover global best practice, including through Amazon’s global network, to ensure the Australian customer can access truly great online shopping
· Become an expert on your category with the aim of driving business improvements, innovation, and scale within your category and across the Retail business
· Manage cross-functional teams, communicating with internal and external parties, while meeting deadlines

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


· A relevant Bachelor’s degree
· 4-5 years of relevant work experience in retail, finance or management consulting
· 1-2+ years of external relationship management experience with a track record of being able to influence outcomes
· Experience in leading negotiations or influencing stakeholder
· Experience with Excel or other analytical/Business Intelligence tools – ability to analyse large data sets to make strategic decisions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Other things that come in handy


· Experience in a start-up or early stage environment

· Experience in negotiations having exposure to Scotwork, GAP or similar
