About the role


In this role you will support the Space Manager working closely with the Merchandise teams across all Business Unit’s.

This is a 1 year Fixed Term contract.


What you'll be doing


As a Space Planner you will work closely with category teams to support the space manager; aligning on Coles visual merchandising principals. Your Primary objective will be to efficiently and effectively build layouts to execute the business trade plan in stores and support Supply Chain with stock requirements.


You'll also:

  • Develop and maintain efficient and effective layouts that support’s Coles 800+ stores.
  • Be at the forefront of space planning, with exposure to key catalogue offers and business initiatives.
  • Work with numerous stakeholders and be responsible for codifying and evolving Coles visual merchandising principles; educating, collaborating and driving continuous improvement in the promotions planning process.

Good things you'll need


  • Previous experience in Range and Space within a fast-paced Retail/FMCG environment.
  • Experience working with customer and market insights advantageous not essential.
  • An understanding of Coles supermarkets operating standards.
  • Prior experience of assortment planning and planogram development.
  • A strong understanding of product adjacency in a retail setting.
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational abilities as well as strong people leadership skills.
  • Strong capacity to communicate and influence effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Problem solving, analytical and numeracy skills (verbal and written).
  • A genuine passion for retail and a genuine desire to see your work come to life for our customers in stores.
