Our business is growing. As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Purchasing Assistant to join our highly motivated and friendly team at our headquarters located at Arana Hills.

Reporting to the Purchasing Officer, you will work closely with the purchasing and accounts team, our stores and suppliers. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for:

  • compare goods received against purchase orders and stock reports received from stores
  • reconciliation of invoices against purchase orders to ensure that costings are correct in Google sheets
  • investigating order discrepancies with stores and suppliers
  • processing of credit claims with our suppliers so that they are resolved as soon as possible
  • liaising with our suppliers to confirm delivery dates
  • liaising with stores to confirm stocktakes
  • processing stock transfers between stores and entering these into the retail management system (Microsoft Dynamics POS)
  • obtaining missing invoices from suppliers and entering these into Asana
  • basic order processing as directed by the Purchasing Officer and Purchasing Manager
  • other duties as required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • sound clerical and administrative skills
  • strong mathematical skills to ensure that cost calculations are correct
  • intermediate Excel skills and computer literate
  • an analytical brain with excellent attention to detail
  • great interpersonal skills and a high degree of patience
  • effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak on the phone and write emails to vendors and internal personnel
  • strong organisational skills
  • enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and take instruction
  • a background in retail purchasing would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite
