Retail Manager – Boorowa, NSW

Kogan People Solutions are working with the owners of this bright modern convenience centre, located in regional NSW, to secure their new Retail Manager. The business trades under a national banner and is recognised as a major Australian operator however their presence in Boorowa is run by the local management team. Their ethos is to provide value, service and product choice to their customers.

About the role

This is a great opportunity to work as a Retail Manager in a convenience store setting. Make your mark representing a respected brand in the organisation and control of this award-winning store.

We’re looking for someone who is driven, organised and passionate about retail and customer service. The successful candidate will have experience in coaching and managing a team to meet and exceed sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Developing appropriate marketing, advertising and pricing strategies to deliver results and performance in store
  • Identification of sales opportunities and provision of advice to customers as necessary
  • Managing smooth and efficient running of the store to ensure operational excellence and a superior level of customer service
  • Ensuring the correct stock selection and appropriate quantities
  • Maintenance of stock control systems and financial control
  • Managing HR processes including staff rosters, wages, training, recruitment and general supervision of staff
  • Understanding of financial processes including financial literacy eg profit and loss statements and budgeting and
  • Ensuring OH&S procedures are complied with.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a customer service retail environment at supervisory or management levels
  • Proven ability to organise, mentor and provide leadership to staff
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus - possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal and work with a diverse range of customers
  • Be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines
  • High computer literacy in EFTPOS and register / POS systems
  • Ability to create, implement, manage and sell existing branded products as well as new product lines and promotions
  • Easy going person comfortable with a locally owned business
  • Strong understanding of OH&S requirements
  • Appropriate relevant post secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level
