Due to internal opportunity, we currently have a vacancy for an exciting commercial business manager role with the Metro team. This unique opportunity leads our commercial partnerships (currently with Ampol) assigned to develop and deliver the Metro commercial plan into new retail channels.

Working with new partners our aim in Metro is to deliver a shopper mission-focused experience targeting the "convenience-oriented customer. Using two distinct formats Metro Neighbourhood and Metro On the go, we focus on delivering Fresh / prepared foods and a credible range of top up and mini shops. Our stores are the future, on-trend at the forefront of innovation, and accessible, whether you're at home or on your way to work.

About The Role

As Business Manager, you will play a vital role in designing, building, testing and implementing all aspects of the customer offer including:

  • Macro and Micro space
  • Tailoring and selecting a shopper mission focused range
  • Designing and implementing a pricing strategy and promotional program
  • Testing and developing the offer to drive and maximise returns

Importantly this role also plays a significant part in building strong working relationships across external partners and internal business teams. Teams to include but not limited to are the Woolworths Food Group, External partners, Vendors and Store teams to ensure all key stakeholders are managed.

To Be Successful In This Role
  • Previous experience in the convenience industry, preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of retail trends and market activity, with proven understanding and awareness category and product
  • Strong level of financial and commercial acumen
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer literacy
  • Market awareness, general trade and consumer insights
  • Proven track record in building teams
  • Effective, cross-functional relationships across all management levels
  • Ability to use data to make informed decisions
