Great opportunity for a customer focused Checkout Operator to join our Hardware team located at our Mt Gambier site.

The Role

As a Checkout Operator, you will be the face of the business and will deliver excellent customer service. You will be a clear communicator, highly approachable and an effective team player.

Casual role available. Must have the ability to work across a 7-day roster.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and farewell customers in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Provide GREAT service
  • Process customer purchases with 100% accuracy and as efficiently as possible
  • Perform cash, credit card and EFTPOS transactions
  • Balance till as required
  • Draw customers' attention to catalogues and special promotions
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Perform stock refill
  • WHS and housekeeping
  • Adhere to administrative requirements
  • Ability to work a 7-day roster

Requires skills and attributes:

  • Excellent sales and customer service
  • Workstation presentation
  • Till report accuracy
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work within a team
  • Excellent time management ability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Strong understanding of WHS requirements
  • Excellent computer skills
