New Ellenbrook Central shopping centre to create 500 jobs
Stunning new images have been revealed of the highly-anticipated $63 million redevelopment of Ellenbrook Central shopping centre.
The artist’s impressions reveal the scope of the expansion plans — due to be completed by next year — which will bring an additional 20 retailers to the centre.
Manager Mike Barrington said the changes meant the centre would offer more than 120 retailers in total, with one in particular causing plenty of excitement.
“Our customers are highly anticipating Kmart, one of Australia’s most loved retailers, opening next year,” he said.
Vicinity Centres revealed today the works would create about 500 jobs — 120 during construction and a further 380 retail or hospitality jobs on completion.
Mr Barrington also revealed 320 new rooftop car spaces would be built at the centre — each topped with solar generating shades.
The announcement comes on the back of a big week in news for Ellenbrook locals, with the McGowan Government unveiling plans for the long-awaited train line from Morley.
The Sunday Times reported the line will travel from Ellenbrook, down the western side of New Lord Street, through land north of Marshall Road and down the middle of Tonkin Highway — before connecting at Bayswater station on the Midland line.
